Rock, Rattle & Roll by Taryn Elliott

Just when you think you can't get any more of Deacon McCoy, here he is again.
This picks up where Rocked ended and I won't get into details in case you haven't read it, but just know that this is the little piece of cake you were missing when the first book ended. If you're anything like me, you wanted just a little bit more to see how everything plays out for Harper and Deacon.
I listened to this one. I've made it my mission to listen to as much Kai and Wen as humanly possible. At this rate, I'm not sure if I'll ever catch up, but I will try!
I thank those two for bringing Deacon and Harper and the band of Oblivion to life. They've done a spectacular job. Again.

Oh, how I love a man in a suit. Especially when he wears the suit and not the other way around. Graham Landry wears his suit and he wears it well.
Graham is in need of an office assistant because his previous assistant quit. He hasn't been able to replace her with anyone who can meet his demands and exceed his expectations. Because that's exactly what he wants--someone who exceeds expectations. He wants someone to fit into a nice, neat little box who is organized and punctual and doesn't need a ton of direction.
Mallory Sims has recently returned home and hasn't been able to find a job that suits her abilities. She's been an administrative assistant while attending college, but she recently quit college and whatever job she may have had to return home. Luckily, Mallory is friends with Graham's sisters and they recommend her for the job as Graham's assistant.
Should be easy peasy. They attended the same high school, they were both in Latin Club, they remembered just enough about each other that neither considered the changes the other had been through prior to their first encounter.
The first encounter where she literally falls into his arms. And this is after she is late for her first shift. It's a good thing this isn't really a first impression. Right?! Right?!!!
Ha! Sparks are going to fly between these two! My how Graham and Mallory have grown. They are no longer awkward teenagers in Latin Club, now they are employee and employer. Totally off-limits.
Or not.
Damn, I just wish he would. Seriously. The heat between these two is palpable. I just know it's going to be amazing.
I.
Can't.
Wait.
I see your point, Mr. Landry. Yes, please continue to make it. Over and over and over again. I won't say no. I'm a sucker for an intense first kiss. This qualifies.
Umm......*fans self*
Ha! Those Landry boys are hilarious. This is actually one of my favorites aspects of these books. The kinship, the love, the unfailing loyalty between this entire family. The banter, the bickering, the everything. They are the ultimate support system and it's how I want my family to be.

"Yeah. Just don't look," he chuckles. "You're telling me you don't imagine her bent over the copy machine?"
"Not as much as I imagine her bent over my desk."

Wait.
"You were making a point today." Graham takes the final step to close the distance between us, our chests nearly touching. "Point. Made." I gasp a quick breath. "Now it's my turn to make a fucking point." With that, his lips cover mine and I melt into his arms.
I see your point, Mr. Landry. Yes, please continue to make it. Over and over and over again. I won't say no. I'm a sucker for an intense first kiss. This qualifies.
"I'm going to have you right here, right now."
"If this takes much longer, I'm going to make myself come right here on your desk with you watching." His hands falter at the waistband of his boxer briefs, his eyes flipping to mine.
"Oh, baby. You're going to come and I'm most definitely going to be watching. But I'm going to be buried so deep inside you that you won't know where you end and I start."

Lincoln: Hell, yeah. Oh--Ford said you got it on in the middle of a meeting today. Can I say I'm super proud of you?
Me: Talk to you later.
Lincoln: Wait! You can't jump my ass and then ignore me. This is the day Graham proves he's human. Let's discuss. Should I grab some pizza and meet you at the office?

Review: Pucked Off
Pucked Off by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
6 “Past Fused with Present” Stars
Lance “Romance” Romero, number 21 for the Chicago hockey team, has intrigued me from the moment I heard he was Scottish. Yep, I have a thing for accents and sometimes Lance’s makes an appearance. Usually when he’s upset or emotional. And Lance is emotional. You wouldn’t get that from his appearances in the previous books, but he is an emotional wreck--and he keeps it buried beneath his playboy ways.
Lance has had an interesting run when it comes to the ladies. Tash being his attempt at something real, he eventually learns she may not be the settling down type. But what does that lesson cost him? Can he survive this attempt at normalcy or will he fall back into the bunnies and continue to live one game--one girl--at a time? What happens when he meets someone who surpasses everything he could ever imagine?
If you’re expecting the ridiculousness that happens in the first few Pucked books, then I recommend you turn away right now. THIS IS NOT THAT. Yes, there is a bit of laughter and ridiculousness, there has to be where Violet is concerned, but the overall theme of this book? Angst. So. Much. Angst. And we all know Helena can write angst, but I didn’t expect it from Lance. Despite this, I absolutely love this book and this couple. Lance is everything I could want in a man (well, almost, because Randy is my main guy). He’s broken and battered and hurt. And he’s lived with this since he was a child.
This is the most beautiful relationship in the Pucked series. And that’s saying a lot considering I am always, always Team Ballistic. He’s my guy and he does incredible things for Lily. But Lance. *le sigh* Lance. He’s everything.
I cried. I can honestly say I cried during at least two moments in this book. Like I said, Lance broke me. He has completely broken me. I want more of this love story. I want to see where this relationship goes. I’m greedy though. I’m never happy with an epilogue. I want novellas and books and spin-offs. I want it all.

***A Standalone novel in The Pucked Series***
I’m NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance “Romance."
I’m notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I’m a player on and off the ice. I’m the one women with no inhibitions want.
Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don’t know how to be any other way.
I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does. I should cut ties. But she makes it difficult, because she’s the kind of bad I deserve.
At least that’s what I believed until someone from my past gets caught up in my present. She’s all the good things in this world. She lights up my dark.
I shouldn’t want her.
But I do.
I should leave her alone.
But I won’t.

Excerpt:
Armed with my clipboard, I walk down the hall to the waiting room. Lance is impossible to miss. Despite the fact that he’s wearing a sweatshirt and the hood is covering half of his face, he’s more than six feet of broad, hockey-playing man.
He’s so wide his shoulders encroach on the chairs on either side, which would explain why no one is sitting next to him. He’s slouched down so his head rests on the back of the chair, and his hands are clasped in his lap, a baseball cap hanging off one knee. His lips, plush and soft—I know since I’ve had them on mine; it might have been a decade ago, but I remember it clearly—are parted. He looks like he’s asleep.
I clear my throat. “Lance Romero?”
He doesn’t move.
Bernadette, the receptionist, gives me a meaningful look.
I clear my throat again and call his name a second time. He jolts awake and the hood falls back, exposing his face. It’s not in good shape. He has a black eye and bruises on his left cheek. There’s a fly bandage across one eyebrow.
Sadly, he’s still hot.
He blinks a few times, yawns, and smacks his lips, his tongue touching the split in the bottom one. His gaze sweeps the room and finally lands on me. Heat explodes in my cheeks and courses through my limbs, warming me from the inside out as he starts at my sneaker-clad feet and roams up over my yoga pants to my company-issued T-shirt before stopping at my face. I can’t look directly at him for more than a couple of seconds. I sincerely hope he doesn’t remember me. I cannot go there and also be professional.
I’m sure the smile he gives me has melted many a panty off a slutty bunny. Mine stay right where they’re supposed to, wedged up my ass.
I force a polite, professional veneer. “I’m ready for you now.”

Mallory Sims is late for her first day of work.
After spilling her tea, she discovers she has no gas in her car. Add that her arm keeps sticking to her dress from syrup left on the console of her car, flustered feels like an understatement.
Then she sees her new boss.
Graham Landry is the epitome of NSFW in his custom-fit suit, black-rimmed glasses, and a look so stern her libido doesn’t stand a chance. Being flustered is just the start of her problems.
Her punctuality is only the start of his. With a pink slip in hand, he’s been waiting on his new secretary to show up only to let her go. Then she rushes in with her doe eyes and rambling excuses, smelling like bacon and lavender. The termination paper falls to the side as she falls in his arms.
This is a disaster in the making. Not because of his pinpoint exactness or her free spirit, but because when they’re together, the sparks that fly threaten to burn the whole place down.

Excerpt
Her skin is pale and creamy, a soft framework for the deep chestnut hair cascading across her shoulders. A dress the color of moss in the summer showcases toned arms and a long, lean line from her shoulders to her calves. A thin rope belt cinches her trim waist, one that I can imagine digging my fingers into.
I clear my throat. “Can I help you?”
With something besides getting out of that dress?
“I think you probably can,” she breathes, then blushes a pretty shade of pink. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. What I mean is …”
She’s flustered. It’s adorable and sexy at the same time. I should say something, interject, help her out, but I don’t. I like this entirely too much.
“I’ll stop talking now.” She flashes me a pretty smile, one that catches my attention in ways it shouldn’t at eight-sixteen a.m. Taking a step towards me, the toe of her shoe catches on the water bottle she didn’t pick up and she comes barreling my way.
Before I know what’s happening, I reach out and catch her under a spray of loose leaf paper.
“Omph!” she heaves as she lands in my arms and I’m surrounded by a sweet, earthy scent.
I should let her go. I should back away, direct her to the front desk to get directions to wherever she’s going, and retreat to my office. Regardless of how sexy her breasts feel pressed against me or the way her ass pops as my fingers lace together at the dip at the bottom of her spine, I have things to do today. Important things. Lots of them. Even if I can’t pinpoint one at the moment.
Large, nearly golden-colored eyes peer up at me. They’re crystal clear, almost like I can see all the way to the depths of her soul. They’re incredible tones of the purest gold and I can’t look away.
The feel of her body against mine sparks something inside me—a carnal, visceral reaction that’s led by feeling rather than intellect. “Are you okay?” I ask, trying desperately to use the brainpower I’m known for in most circles and not the cock I’m known for in others.
“I think so.” She pulls her gaze away from mine. A connection is actually snapped between us and I’m almost certain she feels it too because her features fall. “I’m just running late …”
Hell. Fucking. No.

Review: Rocked
Rocked by Taryn Elliott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Deacon McCoy. I do have a thing for a rockstar. Deacon is the bassist for Oblivion. He's no front man, but Deacon holds his own. I listened to this book and as much as I'd love to quote a bunch of lines from this book, I just can't. I'm not one for taking notes on audio. I'm a dive into it and love it kind of listener. Kai and Wen kill it. Again. And I want nothing more than to live on this tour with Deacon and Harper.
What is supposed to be nothing more than a 5-6 week fling, Harper and Deacon have a hard time holding to the concept of 'this will all end soon.'
Watching these two fall head over heels for each other is quite the ride. It's full of sex, fun, and rock 'n roll!
It's everything I want in a rocker book.

Review: Lost in Between
Lost in Between by K.L. Kreig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 I see more than you think I do Stars
This is another one of those books that I have no idea how to review, but I am going to give it my best shot. I'm also going to go ahead and put this out there: KL Kreig OWNS me. I will stand by this woman until I physically can't stand. Her words, her characters, just...everything. Everything in her books are perfect. I want to fall into them and live there--as the leading lady, of course. But more importantly, I want to read every single thing I can find by this woman. Okay. I'm done. Now, on to the review.
When you're reeling from loss and you just aren't sure if you're good enough, do you collapse into yourself or do you put yourself out there to love? Do you want someone to love you or do you want to hide and ensure no one else can hurt you? What do you choose? Is it a choice? Willow has endured unbelievable pain. She hurts and she doesn't know how to handle the pain.
Lost in a world where money speaks and she doesn't have enough to support her only remaining family member, Willow finds herself working multiple jobs--one of which involves spending time with the wealthy. She doesn't enjoy her job, but it does give her the opportunity to help those around her.
Truer words have never been spoken. The real difficulty is finding that man who will fight for you, the man who will prove that you are worth everything. When crazy circumstances thrust Willow into the clutches of Shaw Mercer, it's possible she's met her match. Finally, someone to challenge her. Or is her just another client? Another wealthy man who is just using her for his own personal gain?
The fireworks begin before they ever really get to know one another. Accidents happen and sparks fly. And the chemistry?
Off.
The.
Charts.
And it will be impossible because Shaw Mercer is the hottest thing in Seattle. Or maybe America. There were times while reading this that my stomach was in knots and my mind was reeling from the things this man would say and do. He's powerful, attractive, and commands attention at his mere presence. He is hard to ignore. And Willow is not immune to him.
Not.
At.
All.
At this point, just know that you want this relationship, this coupling, this sex to happen. And you want it almost as much as you want to see these two live HEA. Trust me. The pages burn with their intensity.
Whether it's a suit or a pair of denim, this man is walking sex. He oozes power and sex appeal. Every word, every move, every look is pure, unadulterated sex.
He has a dirty, dirty mouth. Willow and I have one thing in common here: a weakness for a man who talks dirty. Fuuuuuuck. I don't even have the words to describe it.
Just. Yes.
Swoon. Just. Fucking. Swoon. Shaw is swoon-worthy.
There is so much more to Shaw Mercer, but there is almost no way to put it all in a review. So, make a plan to read this book. You need to bump it way up on your tbr. It's that good.
In case you need more incentive, here are some more of Shaw's awesomeness.
"I am going to own you tonight, Willow."
"The only thing I want to hear from that smart mouth right now is 'more, Shaw' or 'don't ever fucking stop, Shaw.' Understand?"
"Open your eyes, beautiful."
"Because, Willow, I want you handing me the reins of control. Willingly, graciously, no reservations, trusting that I won't take anything you're not offering."
"I really love the way I smell on you, Willow. I could get used to it."
"Get on my cock. Right now. Your next orgasm belongs to me."

He's powerful, attractive, and commands attention at his mere presence. He is hard to ignore. And Willow is not immune to him.
Not.
At.
All.
"You feel this thing between us just as much as I do. It's not going away. It's going to spread and thicken until it consumes us both, burning so fucking hot and strong it will never be extinguished."
At this point, just know that you want this relationship, this coupling, this sex to happen. And you want it almost as much as you want to see these two live HEA. Trust me. The pages burn with their intensity.
He looks like sex and candy. And sex. Forget the candy. He looks exactly like sex.
Whether it's a suit or a pair of denim, this man is walking sex. He oozes power and sex appeal. Every word, every move, every look is pure, unadulterated sex.
"Incredibly tempting, but once I slide between those slim thighs of yours, Willow, it will be a long fucking time before I'll be able to make myself leave. And I'll need the energy. I plan to fuck you until you can't think about anything except begging me to deliver your next orgasm."
He has a dirty, dirty mouth. Willow and I have one thing in common here: a weakness for a man who talks dirty. Fuuuuuuck. I don't even have the words to describe it.
He tastes of whiskey and banked desire.
Just. Yes.
"Willow, you with me, beautiful?"
Swoon. Just. Fucking.

Teaser Time: The Sex Bucket List
Mateo
Emerson’s a sexy mom of three.
And if you call her a MILF, I’ll kick your ass.
She’s got a sex “to do” list, and I’m just the man to help her check some things off.
But this isn’t my story. It’s hers.
Unfortunately for me, her story involves an ex-husband, a kid that hates me, and a pretty nice shot to my nuts. She’s a woman who thinks too much, always with a plan, a list, but I’ve got a list of my own.
Emerson
Mateo likes to tease me that I have lists for my lists. But I didn’t hear him complaining when he stumbled upon my Sex Bucket List.
This is the story of how I brushed the cobwebs off my sex life, put myself back onto my list and not only fell in love with a younger man, but with myself, as well.
Grab a pen and make your own Sex Bucket List!

From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a new twist on a beloved fairytale.
In this modern retelling of The Little Mermaid, a fisherman's daughter from an Outer Banks island untouched by time, meets the son of the North Carolina governor at a fancy party where she is working.
Laire, who wants more from life than her little island can offer, is swept away by wealthy, sophisticated Erik, who is, in turn, entranced by her naiveté and charm. The two spend a whirlwind summer together that ends on the knife-point of heartbreak and forces them to go their separate ways.
Years later, when fate finds them together once again, they will discover the terrifying depth of the secrets they kept from each other, and learn that shattered hearts can only be healed by a love that willfully refuses to die.
All novels Katy Regnery’s ~a modern fairytale~ collection are written as fundraisers. 10% of the e-book sales for in March and April 2017 will be donated.

About the Author:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Regnery started her writing career by enrolling in a short story class in January 2012. One year later, she signed her first contract and Katy’s first novel was published in September 2013.
Twenty-five books later, Katy claims authorship of the multi-titled, New York Times and USA Today Blueberry Lane Series, which follows the English, Winslow, Rousseau, Story, and Ambler families of Philadelphia; the six-book, bestselling ~a modern fairytale~ series; and several other standalone novels and novellas.
Katy’s first modern fairytale romance, The Vixen and the Vet, was nominated for a RITA® in 2015 and won the 2015 Kindle Book Award for romance. Katy’s boxed set, The English Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1–4, hit the USA Today bestseller list in 2015, and her Christmas story, Marrying Mr. English, appeared on the list a week later. In May 2016, Katy’s Blueberry Lane collection, The Winslow Brothers Boxed Set, Books #1-4, became a New York Times E-book bestseller.
In 2016, Katy signed a print-only agreement with Spencerhill Press. As a result, her Blueberry Lane paperback books will now be distributed to brick and mortar bookstores all over the United States.
Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
