Little more than a girl when Ali meets him, his voice resonates with her in a time when she needs it most. As an adult, Deklan has the potential to devastate her.
Deklan Thomas catches Ali Pierce's attention at a young age. Not that he notices. His band Rolling Bridges provides Ali the escape she desperately needs from her home life. Music. It's during this journey that she is confronted with what she has attempted to suppress all along. Her discontent with herself.
Refusing to settle for mediocrity, Ali sets off on a mission. Moving to the Big Apple, she gains a new outlook on life, a snarky online friend, a college degree, and a unique internship others would kill to have.
Though she grows leaps and bounds, her first love remains the same. Nothing can keep her from the music—music that will lead her down a road of passion and predicament that even the new Ali is unsure she can handle.

Is Deklan ready to give up his rocker lifestyle? And does Ali really want to be put in the spotlight after so many years in the shadows?

5 Fan Girling Stars

see what I did there...hahaha

I love rock star romances, so when the opportunity presented itself to review Fan Girl for the blog tour, I was all over it. Fan Girl is fabulous because it steps outside the box. Brandace Morrow emerges as a fabulous story teller. She develops her characters so well and tells the story so flawlessly that I became lost in Ali’s world. Ali is super young when we begin Fan Girl, 15 to be exact. Ali's a little rebellious and a music and concert junkie. Her bestie Stacie and her brother Bobby spend every second of their spare times checking out bands. Some in underage clubs, some at concerts and others in their garages or backyards rehearsing and trying to make their dreams a reality. One night, Ali's life changes. In a backyard, playing on plastic lawn chairs is where Ali first discovers Rolling Bridges and Deklan. Deklan Thomas lead singer of Rolling Bridges, total hottie and rockstar in Ali's world from day one.

Ali is fascinated and infatuated, from the moment she first lays eyes and ears on Deklan and his band Rolling Bridges. So begins the story of a young overweight teenager, with rotten, hateful parents, and her dreams of living a different life. A life, on her own, on her terms, without the stigma of being “the fat girl”. Turns out that college is the best thing that ever happens to Ali. She is given the opportunity to start completely anew, and with Stacie by her side; she becomes the woman she wants to be. A successful, independent woman with a totally kickin’ body and a super successful business of her very own.

Fan Girl is incredibly well written, the story is developed from page one. It’s all about the storytelling with Fan Girl. There is romance, heartache, happiness, angst, drama, concerts, and FANTASTIC characters.  Rock Star romances are my favourites and Fan Girl did not disappoint. The chemistry between Ali and Deklan is a slow build, their relationship is one built on friendship first. There was no falling into bed together in the first 50 pages.

But when they are finally “there” HOLY HELL HAWT!!!

This story takes place over a times span of many years, and follows Ali throughout her life. It doesn’t focus solely on Ali and Deklan either; there are many, many characters to fall in love with. Bobby, Stacie, the entire band, Bernie and Estelle, Reed and the ladies of Shell Distortion. Fan Girl is most definitely an ensemble read with the focus on Ali and Deklan. I'm really really hoping that Brandace is going to give us many more stories with these characters.  Hint Hint *wink*

Fan Girl is the perfect book to kick off a series based on these fabulously fun and captivating characters. I loved Fan Girl and if you adore rock star romances like I do, you’ll love it too.

I'm left fangirling over Fan Girl. Being greedy, greedy girl, here I sit waiting with grabby fingers for more Fan Girl.

Brandace Morrow is a full time mom of four, and currently stationed overseas with her sexy soldier. Her current obsessions are Maroon 5, rum and coke, and reading in no particular order. Despite being terribly awkward with social media, she's everywhere. Frequently subjecting the public to pictures of her minion's messes, and everything that is Momdom in the Morrow house.

Coming this Summer...

FATES MISTAKE

I’m not dead today. I made it through the night. Another sunrise, another goodbye kiss. Stepping on the treadmill, I pray I get to run tomorrow too. My ribs ache as I pick up speed. I breathe in through my nose and slowly exhale through my mouth, feeling my kidney like a giant boulder with each hurtful movement. For two hours I run. Not only because I have to. But because this is the only time I am allowed out of my prison.
