Ever and Cade,
Sorry I vanished like I did. I’m not sure I can even explain
things. I don’t know when I’ll be back. IF I’ll be back. I’m not sure of
anything, except that I love you, Ever. You’re my twin, my best friend, and
leaving you was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I know you don’t understand.
Maybe you never will. I hope you don’t, honestly. It would be easier that way.
That’s cowardly, I’m sure.
Cade, take care of her. Love her, the way she deserves. The way
you always have, for forever and always.
If I could ask you anything, it’s that you remember me as I was,
and forget me as I am.
I’m sorry, and goodbye, and I love you.
Eden
6 Unrelenting Stars
~This Book Will Blow You Away~
“You feel that way because that’s
exactly what love is. Giving yourself with all your faults and vulnerabilities
to someone else, trusting that they’ll treasure what you’re giving them.” -
Carter
Where do I even begin? This last
book in the Ever Trilogy, has completely wrung me out. Emotionally and physically,
I’m spent. I’m writing this review directly after finishing, quite simply
because I need to purge. This conclusion
is nothing short of superb. Jasinda Wilder took a very sensitive and taboo
topic, and just put it right out there. Adultery, deception, all among siblings. Doesn’t get much more real than
that folks. The writing in this book is beyond words. Beautiful, heartbreaking,
and poetic.
“Sometimes all you can do is push
through. Make mistakes and accept them. You can’t always make the right
decision. Sometimes there isn’t one. Sometimes there’s just everything getting
all fucked up, and the only thing you can do is go through it and pick up the
pieces on the other side.” - Cade
In Saving Forever the dual
perspectives are gone, and now we are given four. Ever, Cade, Eden and Carter.
When we left off at the end of After Forever, Eden had found out she was a
pregnant, Cade was nearing a breakdown, and Ever had just woken up, after being
in a coma for well over a year. Now in this last book we pick up right where we
left off. Eden is on her own, pregnant, alone, terrified and being devoured by
her guilt. Ever is healing and struggling to learn how to be herself again.
Cade is still suffering and drowning in guilt, while struggling to reconnect
with his one and only true love. Carter, oh Carter. Carter has his own issues,
and everyone in this story has baggage. I mean a metric shit tonne of it.
“It had been eleven months since
I’d spoken a single word. But for her, I might find the courage to simply say
hello.” - Carter
We bounce back and forth
throughout the story, so that we have everyone’s side of the story. We feel,
all of their feels. It is powerful, moving, heartbreaking, raw and magnificent.
Saving Forever is quite simply this best book I’ve read so far this year; this
series may very well be my favourite work of Jasinda’s to date. I love books
that are unapologetic and charged. This book will put your through every
possible range of emotions known to man. The story line is tricky, it will make
you a bit uncomfortable, but with everyone’s feelings and thoughts, now out in
the open, I found it much more relateable. I understood completely how this
tragedy came to be. Life cannot be controlled and neither can fate, this entire
series is a testimonial to that very fact. Horrific things happen, to good
people all the time. However it’s about never backing down, never giving up,
and always struggling to survive, that matters the most. Holding on to those
that mean the most to you in life is most important. To forgive, even the
unforgivable is divine.
“Forgiveness is a choice, and so
is love.” - Cade
This book touched me, deeply.
Ever, Cade, Eden and Carter will be with me for a long time to come. This book
was fabulous and you must read it. I command it.
Congratulations to Jasinda Wilder
for her best work yet. This lady is a goddess and I am in awe.
