Romance is these stolen moments to ourselves.

I've waited a week or more to write this review. I still have a hard time forming the sentences that need to be formed to write this review. I don't know where to begin. This isn't the kind of book you can just breeze through and come out the other side unfazed. No. This is the kind of book that leaves you wanting more. You want to know the whys and the hows. You want to know how this woman--who you've never met--can write your story so completely and so thoroughly that you're almost certain she spied on your life and then changed the details in order to write this book. This is the book I wish I could write. This is my story.

But it's not. Not really. This is a story of fiction written by a woman I've only had the pleasure of meeting one time--briefly--when I was halfway through this story. So, the book was already out there. She couldn't have possibly known this was my story.

Sadie is married to the man of her dreams. He is perfect for her. So why does she find herself spending more and more time with the guy next door?
Nathan, Sadie's husband, is struggling with something. Something he isn't sharing with Sadie. He keeps pushing her and pushing her, but he refuses to open up to her.
Finn, the neighbor, is there with an open ear and a shoulder to lean on. It's not immediate, this opening up of Sadie's problems, but it does happen.

And that's how it happens, isn't it? It starts slow and innocent. A few words here, a story there, the exchange of dreams and desires and troubles. It starts slow and innocent. But it becomes so much more.
All of a sudden, Finn is there to dry Sadie's tears, Finn is there to hold her close, and Finn is there when it all falls apart with Nathan. Finn. Is. There.

"If you can't do this, I will," he says. "I'll make this decision for us. When you hurt tomorrow, physically or emotionally...when you question what we did...when you ache to do it again--I'll take the blame for all of it, Sadie."

I made it through this entire book not knowing how it would end. I won't give that away here either. What you need to know is that this book is passionate and loving and heartbreaking. It is everything you've ever felt while in a real relationship. It is the ups and the downs and the in-betweens. It is the good, the bad, and the ugly. It is all encompassing.

"Part of me will always love part of him. Those parts are distant memories, but they're there. I suppose those wounds'll be fresh tonight."

Our magic is what could be, and a fresh start can be as alluring as a good memory.

Review: King

King by T.M. Frazier

Can someone tell me why I waited so long to read this book? Anyone? No. Okay, well, I'm not sure either, but I do know that I've been kicking myself since finishing this and now I have to fit in the rest of the series. And I have to do it before Preppy releases.

I don't have any fancy quotes or lines from this book because I listened to it and I don't realize the line is gold until it's over. So, there is no highlighting here, but I do know that I finished this book while on an airplane traveling to Vegas to meet the amazing TM Frazier. It was all I could do to not sob. I cried, yes, I cried, but not sobbing took some effort. I won't tell you why or how or what happened to land me in that public-crying place, but I will say Frazier made the ride completely worth it.

This book follows King and Doe. We meet Bear and Preppy in this book and for anyone following the indie romance community, you already know these characters have their own books, so it's awesome that we meet them in book one.

Doe is on the run. King has just been released from prison. Yep, King is one of those bad guys. Doe finds herself at his house looking to hookup with a biker. Her whore of a friend--I don't even remember her name--dragged her to this party and told her that her ticket to a warm bed and a roof over her head was to hook up with a biker.

Doe doesn't hook up with a biker. Instead she finds King. From there the book is perfect. They push and pull, they take and give, they love and they lose. Oh boy, do they lose. And that loss is heartbreaking.

I'm moving on to book 2 because I have to see what happens after that freaking ending! Seriously, who ends a book like that?! Thanks TM Frazier, for creating characters that make me feel.

I'm mad at all of my Huss bitches who didn't force me to read this book sooner. I've been a Huss addict for about a year now, but I am only just now finding Vaughn Asher and Grace Kinsella. And that pisses me off. A lot.

Vaughn Asher is fucking hot. He's cocky and arrogant and beautiful. He's dirty and hot and fuckhot amazing.

If you're looking for a couple who fights as much as they fuck, then you should probably pick up Social.
If you're looking for a couple who plays games and avoid serious conversation, then you should probably pick up Social.
If you're looking for dirty, hot sex, then you should probably pick up Social.

Do you see the theme here? You should pick up Social.

Julie is a a mastermind of hot sex and debauchery. Games and banter and money. There's always money. And that money makes Julie's men fan-fucking-tastic. It makes them more complicated, more dark, more twisted, more...everything. Maybe it isn't the money. Maybe she just writes the craziest of crazies and makes them completely irresistible. Not sure how she does it, but I fall for every single leading man she puts into a book. Yes, I have favorites, but they don't all make the top spots. However, Vaughn is definitely in the top 5 Huss men.
